Collaborative Family Law: This course will allow students to earn one credit hour of academic credit while they gain valuable practical experience for understanding the collaborative dispute resolution process. Students will gain knowledge and hands-on experience as they learn about the collaborative process and develop skills in dealing with family law clients engaged in this process. We also explore what a reflective practitioner needs to know about their own conflict styles and biases. And finally, we cannot touch upon family law without addressing the umportant issues of domestic abuse. A variety of readings, exercises, and role-plays will be employed. The course also encourages students to explore their development by examining ideas and values of professsionalism.
