LAW-6118 SPORTS LAW
This course will present a broad array of sports law issues. It is designed to give you some idea of the issues a "sports lawyer" addresses on a daily basis. This course also examines how the various areas of law apply to, first, the conduct of non-professional sports and, second, the relationships in the professional sports industry. Amateur sports topics cover uniquely applied torts and criminal law, governance of non-league sports by international and national governing body's rules of amateurism, and governance of intercollegiate sports. For professional sports, the most significant areas are antitrust, labor communications, and contract law.
