LAW-6747 AVIATION LAW

Aviation Law is a survey of domestic and international aviation law. Students recE;!ve an introduction into major aspects of aviation law, with emphasis placed on government regulation of airlines, airports, and airline personnel. Students will achieve an understanding of the structure and forms of federal and international aviation law in the context of real-world commercial applications. Students will gain or increase competency in several areas of substantive law that touch upon aviation including administrative law, employment and labor law, certain constitutional law provisions, antitrust law, environmental law, bankruptcy, trade law, commercial law (common law and UCC), aviation economics, mergers and acquisitions, and international treaties. In the context of administrative law, students will be able to apply procedural law concepts such as appeals from administrative decisions both within agencies and to federal courts.
