LAW-6112 ENVIRONMENTAL LAW
Environmental Law is an introduction to the fundamentals of environmental law and policy. This course discusses the importance of protecting natural resources and looks at the comprehensive statutory and regulatory scheme designed to protect the environment. Students will become familiar with laws protecting various media (land, water, and air) as well as the special considerations related to toxic pollutants. The interplay between government enforcement, citizen suits under modern environmental statutes, and private party litigation (toxic torts) will be examined.
