LAW-6138 INTERNATIONAL LAW
This is a 3-credit hour introductory study of international law. First, we will consider some of the theoretical underpinnings of the international legal system and examine its history. We will study "source" doctrine, or the process by which international legal rules come into existence and become binding. Other topics include: international law and municipal law, international courts, individuals and international law, human rights, states and international law, and the regulation of the use of force in international relations.
