LAW-5429 ADMINISTRATIVE LAW
This course will study how federal government agencies make and apply law and will introduce the institutions, procedures, and theories of the administrative state. The course will cover a variety of topics, including the legal framework (both constitutional and statutory) that governs administrative action; the role of agencies in interpreting statutory and regulatory law; and judicial review of agency decisions. Like Civil Procedure in the first-year curriculum, this course is not about the substantive rules that govern particular activities; rather, it is about legal institutions and the procedures they, and private parties interacting with them, must use.
