LAW-5106 CRIMINAL LAW
This will be a 3-credit hour introductory study of criminal law. At minimum we will cover the general principles of criminal law, such as men_s rea, causation, strict liability, mistake and punishment theory. We will also study specific crimes (criminal homicide, rape and property crimes) and some of the various justifications (e.g., self defense, necessity, duress) and excuses (e.g., insanity, intoxication) for criminal conduct. We will also examine other forms of liability, including felony murder, attempt, solicitation, conspiracy and accomplice liability
