LAW-6589 Introduction to Ai
Artificial intelligence systems are gaining traction in the legal field, from being utilized in applications ranging from legal research and writing to predicting case outcomes. This course offers an introduction to how AI is transforming contemporary legal practice. Students will gain core competencies in understanding AI concepts and terminologies relevant to law, be able to recognize various current and emerging AI technologies designed specifically for the legal world, appreciate ethical issues surrounding the integration of AI in legal practice, and review emerging US and international legislation seeking to control the development and application of AI. By the conclusion of this course, students will be equipped to grasp the rapidly expanding intersection of artificial intelligence and law.
