LAW-6429 CIVIL RIGHTS

This course studies the origins and development of civil rights law in the United States with a focus on selected federal statutes enacted to remedy violations of federal constitutional rights. Some topics discussed in this course may include the following: Fourteenth Amendment, Due Process, housing discrimination, employment discrimination, discrimination in education, voting rights, and Americans with Disabilities Act. Course prerequisite: Constitutional Law. This is a three credit lecture course without a maximum number of students. The course grade will be based on exam(s).
