LAW-6280 STATE ATTORNEY EXTERNSHIP

Students work in the state attorneys offices of the 9th or 18th Judicial Circuit. Students are primarily placed in the Orange, Seminole, Brevard Osceola County offices. Student work with attorneys in these offices twenty hours a week for 14 weeks. The students assist these attorneys prosecuting persons accused of crimes. Students will assist in the trial work, courtroom presentations, witness interviewing and preparation, negotiations and drafting. In addition to these hours, the students attend a one-hour class weekly. This is a P/F course. In addition to registering for this course, students must submit an application and be accepted in the placement.
