REL-3515 THE CHURCH
This course will explore the meaning of the church as part of the Christian mystery of salvation. Biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the church will be surveyed in order to understand the mission, life, and structure of the church in today's world. Special attention will be given to developments in Catholicism since the Second Vatican Council (1962-65) though the wider ecumenical context (including the Protestant and Orthodox churches) will also be taken into account.
