Post-Graduate Certificate: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Specializations

The post-graduate certificates in nursing are designed for the Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who possesses a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or higher who desires to obtain a new or additional advanced practice nursing specialty certification. Students must select the preferred specialization and meet all admission criteria to be admitted into the certificate program of study. Certificate Specializations include Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) and Nurse Anesthesiology (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist: CRNA).

The program director and/or faculty advisor will develop a tailored curriculum plan through a gap analysis conducted in collaboration with the student. To earn the certificate, students must either validate or complete the necessary coursework to be eligible for the certification exam in their respective specialties (FNP, AGACNP, and CRNA). Along with the official academic transcript, students may also be required to submit course syllabi and objectives from their previous degree programs.
