OTD-839 OT SERVICES FOR VISUAL DEFICITS
This course focuses on evaluation and intervention methods for clients with visual impairments in maintaining engagement in home and community occupations. Promoting participation for those with low vision, visual processing, and visual discrimination limitations are considered. Examination of vision diagnoses related to cortical visual impairment, acquired brain injury, diabetes, etc. provides for intervention plan establishment to overcome barriers. Particular attention is given to activities of daily living, diabetes self-management, psychosocial considerations, driving and cessation, and school-based services. Pre-requisites: admission into the OTD program.
