BMS-527 BIOCHEMISTRY: METABOLIC PATHWAYS
Biochemistry I provide an introduction to the fundamental aspects of biochemistry. It gives an overview of the structure, function and metabolism of biologically Important molecules; carbohydrates, fatty acids, proteins and nucleic acids. Enzyme kinetics, allostery, enzyme inhibition and control are considered in detail. The course concludes with a review of amino acid metabolism. Throughout, the emphasis is placed on the regulation of metabolic pathways and on their interrelationships in health and disease.
