Post-Graduate Certificates Advanced Practice Nursing Specializations
The post-graduate certificates in nursing are designed for the Registered Nurse (RN) or Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who possesses a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or higher who desires to obtain a new or additional advance practice nursing specialty certification. Students must select the preferred specialization and meet all admission criteria to be admitted into the certificate program of study. An individualized curriculum plan based on a gap analysis will be created by the program director and faculty advisor in collaboration with the student. Students may be asked to provide course syllabi and course objectives from previous degree programs. Certificate specializations include Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) and Nurse Anesthesiology (CRNA). The individualized curriculum for the post-doctorate certificate for Nurse Anesthesiology (CRNA) must first meet prior approval criteria from the Council on Accreditation (COA) for nurse anesthesiology programs.
