HED-646 DIVERSITY & COLLEGE STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
This survey course will expose participants to many of the theories of development that inform student affairs practices within the higher education administration context. As such, students will become acquainted with the four categories of college student development theory which include: 1) cognitive structural, 2) psychosocial, 3) typological, and 4) person-environment. Students will have taken at least two Higher Education Administration courses as prerequisites toward developing an understanding of the HED/Student Affairs context and, thus, application of the theories in community colleges or universities.
