SW-726 THEO/EMP FOUNDATIONS TRAUMA/RESILIENCE

This course reviews theoretical models of trauma and resilience and the inter-disciplinary empirical evidence that frames our understanding of the prevalence and impact of trauma across the lifespan. Neuro-psychological, cognitive, attachment, and sociological-cultural perspectives are integrated and applied to a framework for social work leadership and social justice advocacy. As consumers of research, students will obtain beginning knowledge about the empirical measures for trauma and resilience constructs and how testing of research questions can inform clinical practice, executive leadership and social justice advocacy.
