Admission Requirements for Traditional Option Program
To be considered for acceptance into the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, the following is required:
- GPA of 3.2
- Grade C or greater for liberal arts courses
- Grade C or greater for science courses with no repeats (Science courses must be completed before admission to the program)
- Grade C or greater in PSY-283—Developmental Psychology, and MAT-152—Probability & Statistics, with one repeat
- All prospective students must take the TEAS test with a preferred score ≥ 68.
- If TEAS score is <68, the holistic interview process with further documents may be required as outlined under the Admission Process
- Completion of all prerequisite courses
Baptist Scholar’s Program
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Barry University is fortunate to have a longstanding agreement with Baptist Health South Florida that offers students, who have been admitted to the Traditional BSN Option, the option to apply for the Baptist BOND scholarship (Details upon request). A selected group of students, known as Baptist Scholars, complete their nursing studies at Baptist Hospital in Kendall and are subsequently provided potential employment within the Baptist Healthcare system upon completion of the program. Barry University provides substantially reduced Tuition for these highly qualified and motivated students. This scholarship opportunity is available for both the fall and spring semesters.
