Analytical approach to the problem of reciprocal incidence and dependence between "religious" phenomena and the socio-cultural world; deals principally with classical sociologists Marx, Freud, Durkheim, Malinowski, Weber and their views on the function of religion and the process of secularization. Prerequisite: HUM 199H or instructor's permission.
