RSK-001 RISK MANAGEMENT
This course consists of a total of 120 clock hours. The progam provides training in Risk Management in health care settings such as hospitals, outpatient and surgical centers, long term care facilities, healthcare agencies, and private healthcare organizations. This program is intended for individuals who are seeking to become a Florida Licensed Health Care Risk Manager through Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Course topics include Risk Management, Risk Prevention and Reduction, State Risk Management Program Requirements for health care organizations, Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information (HIPAA), Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), Compliance Programs Fraud and Abuse, State and Accreditation Reporting (The Joint Commission/AHCA), Legal Liability and Exposure, Credentialing/Licensure, Claims and Conducting Investigations. Student is awarded a pass/fail based on attendance and participation.
