DAN-325 DANCES OF THE AFRICAN DIASPORA

This course is designed to explore dances with African roots found in South America, the United States, and the Caribbean. Specific dances such as Gullah Ring Shout, Gahu, Samba, and Kumina will be examined. These dances are experiences utilizing body/mind interaction in order to learn the classic movement vocabulary and investigate individual development of style. (Special fee)
