Overview
The Department of Information Technology (DoIT) provides information technology-related services to Barry’s students, faculty, and staff. Embedded within the Division of Digital Transformation, it centrally administers Barry’s information systems, communications infrastructure, information security, and end-user computing services and support across all university locations. Services
Instructional learning technology is provided and maintained in all classrooms throughout Barry University. Rooms are outfitted with multimedia projection equipment as well as hybrid technology to facilitate FlexLearning course delivery. Distance education and location-agnostic workstyles are supported through videoconferencing platforms, live streaming services, remote support, and recordings of courses and meetings.
An online application launchpad is available at https://myapps.microsoft.com. This portal delivers anytime-anywhere access to many applications, including the Microsoft Office suite and other commonly used software, to all members of the Barry community. With an internet-connected device, library resources and other intranet sites are made available through this portal.
Barry provides Adrian, the university’s institutional chatbot and virtual guide, to assist students with navigating university life and services. Adrian is available to answer a wide range of student-related questions, including topics related to academics, student services, campus resources, office locations, and technology support. In addition, Adrian may proactively share important reminders and timely updates to students regarding upcoming deadlines, events, required tasks, and other information designed to support engagement and student success. Educational pricing is extended to members of the Barry community interested in purchasing personally owned PCs, peripherals, and software applications such as Adobe products and SPSS.
Walk-in technology support is located on the main campus and is available to all members of the Barry community. The IT Support Desk is physically staffed during normal business hours and offers several ways to be contacted 24x7x365.

Barry provides a range of technology resources that help bridge the divide between academic work and campus life:
- Cloud printing stations allow users to initiate a print job from anywhere and securely release (print) documents at various locations across the main campus, Orlando Law campus, and residence halls.
- Public access PCs are available at the Miami Shores and Orlando Law campuses.
- Program-specific computer labs support disciplines such as Honors, Fine Arts, and Social Work.
- Laptops available through automated checkout kiosks facilitate students’ ability to work wherever they feel most comfortable.
- Wireless coverage is available in all residence halls, administrative buildings, and many outdoor high-traffic areas where students commonly gather.
