NUR-669 ADULT/GERONTOLOGY ACUTE CARE III

Proposed Course Description X__ NUR 669 Proposed This is the final of three clinical courses which provide opportunities to develop and implement the role of the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) by diagnosing and managing acutely/critically ill adult patients under the direction of an advanced practice clinical preceptor. Evidence-based interventions are planned and implemented for adult/gerontology patients with complex acute care health problems. Psychosocial and palliative care is included. Experiences build upon previously acquired knowledge and skills of advanced health/physical assessment, advanced physiology and pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, health maintenance/disease prevention, and the domains and competencies unique to the role of the AGACNP.
